STRIKE OUT!
Negotiating with Stakeholders I.
After a meeting with Stella, she volunteered to bring along several students in our group to have a tour around Kampong Glam. This was to help facilitate conversations between the Project Rediscover 2022 team and Kampong Glam's existing vendors.
After confirming Stella's availability, an internal arrangement between the social media team resulted in Tricia and Mandel heading down to Kampong Glam to have the tour with Stella. The group then made use of this opportunity given by Stella to start connecting with the vendors to promote what Project Rediscover 2022 would be offering to Kampong Glam.

This experience was really useful as we get to see how Stella kept a close relationship with each vendor differently in Kampong Glam. The people skills needed to hold conversations were essential as art managers are consistently surrounded by people and their work focus on managing or liaising with the people around them, hence communication is an important tool for arts managers to utilize.
Negotiating with Stakeholders II.
After receiving feedback from the project supervisor about the need for the team to be more independent, the team went down to meet and negotiate with the stakeholders independently. On the day, Shalyn, Hyorim, Tricia & Roxana went down to the respective stalls that we wanted to feature on the Strike Out Challenge as well as the #takeovertuesday posts.

For most of the stalls owner, they were very positive about being part of the project, and very kindly share about their stalls. For some stalls, which we could not get approvals, due to personal reasons, we discussed as a group and came up with alternatives that did not require prior approval such as the giant carper swing. For some stalls that could not give us approvals due to their owners not being in stall, we got their contact from Stella and gave them a call to get their approval.

This was such a meaningful experience as the team got to learn the skill of negotiating and also coming up with alternative solutions resourcefully. We believe that these experience and skill really encapsulates the spirit of arts managers.
